We’re just days away from the crucial COP26 summit in Glasgow, which will host global parties to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
While the event continues to dominate headlines as the final preparations come to fruition, we have been working hard behind the scenes for months to make the goal of increasing inclusivity among delegates a reality.
Alongside our partners Cisco and Davra, we’ll be providing the technology that securely connects those on site with the delegates who are unable or choose not to travel to the conference. This will be achieved through Webex; alongside a specially customised COP26 version of Legislate for Webex, Cisco’s platform to facilitate secure discussions for policymakers.
Using this technology, we’ll be connecting discussions and facilitating ad hoc conversations and press conferences throughout the 12 days of the summit.
Behind the scenes, the team has also been providing training for organisers and support staff as well as consultancy on integrations with UNFCCC applications, to ensure all digital components run smoothly during the conference.
Neil Pemberton, Co-CEO at ITGL said: “We’re incredibly proud of the hard work delivered by our team, alongside our partners, over the last few months. Their dedication to creating seamless engagement across the summit will ensure that this summit is one of the most inclusive to date, even with some travel constraints still in place. As a team we are looking forward to playing our part in this crucial event.”
Keep a close eye on our social media channels for live updates from the summit, but in the meantime, we thought we’d share some numbers:
